Planning Your Online Nikah from UAE
Most UAE-based clients either join the nikah by video while a wakeel (representative) signs in Pakistan, or authorise a wakeel through a power of attorney. The completed Nikah Nama is registered in Pakistan and the NADRA marriage certificate is then attested so it can be used for spouse sponsorship in the UAE.

Pakistan Embassy & Consulate Services in UAE
Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai handle NICOP, passport and power-of-attorney attestation for Pakistanis in the UAE.
You will need them for your NICOP or passport and to attest the power of attorney that appoints your wakeel in Pakistan.

Using Your Marriage Certificate in UAE
For a UAE spouse visa, the NADRA marriage certificate is normally attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Pakistan, then by the UAE Embassy in Islamabad, and finally by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs after arrival. Confirm the current sequence with ICP/GDRFA or your typing centre before starting.
Online Nikah Requirements for Pakistanis in UAE
The standard checklist for a wakeel nikah in Pakistan. We confirm the final list after reviewing your documents.
- CNIC, NICOP or passport
- Copies of the CNIC or NICOP and passport of both partners. Names and dates of birth should match across documents — differences are easier to fix before the Nikah Nama is filled in.
- Two adult witnesses
- CNIC copies and contact details of the witnesses who will be present at the nikah in Pakistan.
- Wakeel and power of attorney
- The partner abroad appoints a wakeel (often a close relative) to sign on their behalf. A power of attorney attested by the Pakistan embassy or consulate is usually used for this.
- Haq Mehr and Nikah Nama terms
- Agree the Haq Mehr amount and how it is paid, and any conditions to be written in the Nikah Nama, before the ceremony date.
- Previous marriage records
- If either partner was married before: the divorce (talaq effectiveness) certificate from the Union Council, or the death certificate of the previous spouse.
- Photographs
- Recent passport-size photographs of both partners for the Nikah Nama and registration.

Can I do my nikah online from Dubai with my partner in Pakistan?
Yes. You can join the nikah ceremony by video while a wakeel you appoint signs the Nikah Nama on your behalf in Pakistan, with witnesses present. The nikah is then registered with the local Union Council.
Which document do I need for a UAE family visa after nikah?
The NADRA computerised marriage registration certificate, attested by MOFA Pakistan and the UAE Embassy, and then by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Your sponsor’s salary and housing requirements are separate UAE conditions.
Do I need to travel from the UAE to Pakistan?
Not for the nikah itself if a wakeel is appointed. A power of attorney can be attested at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate in Dubai.
What documents are needed for an online nikah?
CNIC or NICOP and passport copies of both partners, CNIC copies of two witnesses and the wakeel, passport-size photographs, and a power of attorney if a wakeel signs for the partner abroad. Divorced or widowed applicants also need the divorce or death record.
Will we get a NADRA marriage certificate?
